Bremen: Guwara set for Kaiserslautern loan

SV Werder Bremen have confirmed that left-back Leon Guwara will be sent out on loan to Kaiserslautern as he continues his development.

The 20-year-old spent last season at SV Darmstadt 98 but only made 17 appearances for the side who were relegated from the Bundesliga and will now move to Kaiserslautern in 2.Bundesliga instead.

"Unfortunately, Leon did not get so many chances to play in the second half of the season, so we are hopeful that he will get those opportunities in a full season at Kaiserslautern," Werder sporting director Frank Baumann told the club's official website.

"We are confident that he can complete a strong season at a high level with Kaiserslautern and further his development."

Guwara joined Bremen in 2014 from FC Cologne's Academy and made his Bundesliga debut in February 2016.
