Shenzhen FC have parted ways with veteran manager Sven-Goran Eriksson after a run of eight matches without a win.
The Youth Army are looking to earn promotion from China League One to the Chinese Super League, but are currently fourth, seven points off the leaders.
The Swede has been in China since 2013 when he took charge of Guangzhou R&F and then Shanghai SIPG, adding to a long CV that includes stints in charge of Roma, Manchester City, and the England national team.
Former China international striker Wang Baoshan has been named as Eriksson’s successor.
Shenzhen face fellow strugglers Hangzhou in their next match at the Shenzhen City Stadium on Saturday.
