The year of Cristiano

It has been 12 months or so full of joy and definitely one of success for arguably the world's greatest player, Cristiano Ronaldo.

He has conquered all, from winning the European Championship with Portugal in July 2016, to winning La Liga and the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid in June 2017.

Inspired performances at the EUROs propelled his team to victory, and, even without their star man on the pitch for a huge portion of the final, Portugal rallied and produced a great team performance to make history against France.

There was no stopping Ronaldo as he went straight back to training with real purpose in 2016/2017. At the age of 32, and with his playing time smartly managed by Zinedine Zidane, Real had an amazing season.

Aside from winning the La Liga title, a Champions League crown followed in Cardiff, as Barcelona and Lionel Messi could only watch on with envy.

Cristiano rose to the occasion as all big game players do and scored two wonderful goals as his team beat Juventus 4-1, to record back-to-back Champions league titles, the first club in history to achieve this.
