Griezmann wants Cavani partnership

Edinson Cavani

Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has expressed his desire to partner Edison Cavani in a dream attacking line-up next season.

With Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United strongly linked with the France international, he's given the biggest hint he may remain with Atleti beyond the summer.

Griezmann believes Europe’s top scorer this season would help Diego Simeone’s side transform to the next level. His addition would help them compete for the highest honours in European football.

The recently crowned Ligue 1 player of the Year has flourished under manager Unai Emery's tutelage as Les Parisens leading striker. He’s scored 35 league goals in as many games, taking over the responsibility of former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"I love [PSG striker Edinson] Cavani," Griezmann told Cadena Ser. "He has our style. He is Uruguayan and he is going to give everything for each ball.

"It would be a top signing [for Atletico]. But we will see what can happen."
