Madrid book Cardiff trip, Internet reacts

Real Madrid booked a place in the Champions League final for a second successive year after overcoming Atletico Madrid 4-2 on aggregate following Wednesday night’s second leg.

It wasn’t all one-way traffic though, as the defending champions had to fight for the right after two early goals from Saul Niguez and Antoine Griezmann had given Atleti real hope if a comeback.

The final on June 3 in Cardiff will see Real coach Zinedine Zidane come up against his old team Juventus in what is sure to be a closely fought battle.

It will be Los Blancos’ 15th European championship final and they will be seeking a 12th win.

Pretty impressive stats, no? Of course, the Internet went into overdrive celebrating the achievements of Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, and co.

We look at some of the best tweets and reaction.

We’re looking forward to June 3. Are you?
