Real Betis have dismissed head coach Victor Sanchez del Amo after just six months in charge of the struggling La Liga side.
He will be replaced by former captain and the club's current technical secretary Alexis Trujillo for the final two matches of the season against Atletico Madrid and Sporting Gijon.
Sanchez, who replaced Gus Poyet in November, leaves Betis in 15th place on the standings, with 37 points, ten clear of Gijon in the top relegation spot.
The decision to part ways with the 41-year-old former Deportivo La Coruna and Olympiacos boss came following the 4-0 loss to Leganes, that was a third successive defeat and one of six losses in their last eight games.
A statement on the club's website read: "The Real Betis board has this evening decided to dismiss Victor Sanchez del Amo as coach of the first team. Real Betis thanks Mr Sanchez del Amo and all his team for their work and wish them the best in their professional futures.
"The board have also decided that the final two games of the current season will be coached by Alexis Trujillo, the club's technical secretary and member of the previous coaching staff.
"Alexis was a player and captain of Real Betis between 1993 and 2000, as well as assistant coach between 2004 and 2006."
