Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim was disappointed with his side’s exit from the Champions League on Tuesday night, but praised the performance of his players.
It was always going to be an uphill battle for the Ligue 1 leaders after suffering a 2-0 semi-final first leg defeat.
And after starting well at the Juventus Stadium, goals from Mario Mandzukic and Dani Alves sealed their exit, with only Kylian Mbappe able to breach the home defence.
After the game, the manager said that his young team did well against their more experienced counterparts.
He said: "On the one hand, there was a very experienced team and on the other, there was a young side.
"We are very happy with this semi-final and very proud of the players. The players gave everything and we could have drawn tonight."
Jardim added that he would now turn his attentions back to their league campaign where they lead PSG by three points, and having played a game less, with three games to play.
"We exit the competition with our heads held high. Now we are going to focus on the league."
