Deportivo Alaves dented Athletic Bilbao's charge for European football as Deportivo La Coruna's relegation battle intensified.
Theo Hernandez scored the only goal of the game at the Estadio de Mendizorroza in the 53rd minute to hand Deportivo Alavés a solid 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao.

The result left Alavés in 10th with 51 points, and Bilbao in sixth with 62 points, but level with Real Sociedad in seventh.
Ezequiel Garay (22, 45) netted a brace to go with second-half efforts from Simone Zaza (70) and Rodrigo Moreno (75) to hand Valencia a 4-1 victory at home to Osasuna, whose only goal came from Miguel Olavide in stoppage time.
The hosts ended the evening in 13th with 43 points, with relegated Osasuna rock-bottom with 19 points.
Espanyol moved onto 53 points in ninth with their 2-1 defeat of Deportivo La Coruna where Leonardo Baptistao (14) and Gerard Moreno (29) gave the visitors a first half lead, with only Florin Andone (47) replying for the 16th placed Deportivo.
And Málaga eased past Celta de Vigo 3-0 with Javi Ontiveros (26), Recio (56) from the penalty spot, and Sandro Ramírez (90) all on target.
Malaga moved above Celta into 11th with 45 points as Celta dropped to 12th with 44 points.
