Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Mesut Ozil kicked a door after their 2-0 defeat at Tottenham, but doubts its connection to a drugs test.
It was reported that the Germany international was furious at being told he had to undergo a random post-match doping test at White Hart Lane on Sunday, and he lashed out at a door in anger.
Spurs signed off their final north London derby at the Lane in style to ensure they would finish above their fierce rivals in the Premier League for the first time since 1995.
Wenger felt that Ozil's frustration stemmed from a disappointing loss to Mauricio Pochettino's side, which further dented the Gunners' chances of finishing in the top four.
"I am sorry that he kicked the door but I don't think his frustration was towards the drugs test, it was towards the game," the Frenchman said at a news conference on Thursday.
"I did not speak about it then because I only heard about it today. I don't know what really happened but it is always good to get the player's version."
