VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Fabian Johnson is eager to extend his stay with the club as he has just one year remaining on his current deal.
The America international has been a regular part of coach Dieter Hecking’s starting line-up since arriving at Monchengladbach in 2014, from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
In 2016/17 the 29-year-old has made 22 appearances in all competitions, with four goals. The 54-cap USA international is a versatile performer for Hecking’s outfit as he can play as a wide midfielder and as a fullback.
Johnson confirmed to the media that he was hopeful of staying with the Foals.
He told reporters: “I feel really happy at Monchengladbach. Anyone who plays for a team like this would be happy. It’s no secret we’re in talks [about a contract extension].”
