Olivier Giroud's agent says the Arsenal striker's future at the English Premier Leagye club depends on the plans regarding manager Arsene Wenger.
Wenger has not put pen to paper on a new contract, with his current deal running out at the end of the season and remains ambiguous to the media about his intentions.
With the Gunners unlikely to qualify for the Champions League for the first time during his reign as head coach, speculation has been rife that this current campaign could be Wenger's last.
This has put a lot of the club's stars' futures in jeopardy, with Giroud joining Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez refusing to sign new contracts while the manager's future remains uncertain.
And the France international target-man has now been linked with and return to France to sign for Marseille.
"There was talk that Olivier was in contact with [Marseille head coach] Rudi Garcia," Giroud's agent Michael Manuello told Foot Mercato.
"I said that that was false. There is no contact between Marseille and us. At this point, there is no contact.
"Olivier wants to help his team qualify for the Champions League. When we know exactly what Arsene Wenger is doing, we will ask ourselves questions. We will think about what is possible and what is not possible.
"When Olivier and I talk, there are no discussions about other projects. His future is not only linked with that of the manager.
"It is linked to what Arsenal are going to do and if there is a change at Arsenal in terms of how Olivier is implicated at the project.
"Things have not to changed since his contract extension. Our desire is [to] be at Arsenal long term."
