Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro has revealed he rejected a move to Barcelona because of how Zlatan Ibrahimovic was treated at the Camp Nou.
Following Pedro's departure to Chelsea, the Catalan giants attempted in vein to sign Gameiro, who helped Sevilla win three successive Europa League titles before joining Atletico during the off-season.
The France international has now explained his reasoning for snubbing Atleti's La Liga rivals.
"I had the choice between going to Barca or coming to Atletico," Gameiro told Le10 Sport. "But what do you want me to do at Barca? There's Neymar, [Lionel] Messi, and [Luis] Suarez.
"There are players like that who want to play all matches, who refuse to go out even 10 minutes from the end. With Ibra [Ibrahimovic], that's what happened."
The Swedish star endured a tough time at Barca between 2009 and 2011, being forced to play out of position to accommodate Lionel Messi, which led to a falling out with Pep Guardiola.
