Jeju Utd surprise Jiangsu in China

K League Classic outfit Jeju United defeated China's Jiangsu FC 2-1 in their Group H clash in the AFC Champions League played at Nanjing Olympic Sports Center on Tuesday.

The result is the first loss that Jiangsu have suffered in the group after five games. In the standings, they still are on top with 12 points then Jeju with seven points followed by Adelaide United on five and Gamba Osaka with four.

The goals were scored via Ramires for Jiangsu while Magno Cruz and Lee Chang-Min gave Jeju the 2-1 victory. 

Home side Jiangsu got the opening goal in the 27th minute when Brazilian midfielder Alex Teixeira crossed the ball to countryman Ramires who scored with a header to give his side the 1-0 lead. 

Things were all square again in the 34th minute though Magno Cruz, who scored, after receiving a pass by Jin Seong-Uk, with a shot from an angle on the right to beat goalkeeper Gu Chao and make it 1-1. 

The sides went in at the half-time break with the scores tied at 1-1.

That all changed in the 48th minute when visitors Jeju got their second goal. 

Cruz was the provider when he passed the ball to Lee Chang-Min who scored with a right-footed shot from outside the area to give his side the 2-1 lead. 

Jiangsu tried to get the equaliser but good defending by the Korean side handed the visitors the deserved victory.
