Feyenoord received a heroes' welcome in Rotterdam on Monday as they edged closer to their first Eredivisie title win since 1999.
Sunday's 2-0 win over Vitesse, and Ajax Amsterdam's narrow 1-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven, left Giovanni Van Bronckhorst's side needing just one win to capture the Dutch Eredivisie title.
"We were very sharp, very aggressive, we deserved our 2-0 lead, and it might have been more," the former Arsenal and Barcelona fullback was quoted by the Daily Mail.
Feyenoord have the chance to claim their first title since 1999 on Sunday at struggling Excelsior. Doing so would break the stranglehold Ajax and PSV have had over the Dutch league in recent years.
