Fabian: Cup win a dream for Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt broke a winless run of ten matches at the perfect time on the weekend and go into Tuesday's DFB Cup semi-final against VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach confident of a win.

Marco Fabian scored two as Frankfurt defeated FC Augsburg 3-1 in the Bundesliga on Saturday, but he won't be celebrating just yet.

"We have an important game in the DFB Cup on Tuesday, so we have to concentrate on that," Fabian told the Bundesliga website.

Also at stake for Frankfurt is a place in next season's Europa League, and it's a competition they have an eye on.

"Many teams are fighting for the Europa League positions in the league right now," he said.

"It's really tight there but it's in our own hands. As for the semi-final, it’s a decisive game – like a final before a final that we want to win," said Fabian.

He added: "And, that's our dream, the reason we live. Every success needs hard work and a positive mind-set, and that's how we're going into the game on Tuesday."
