Paris Saint-Germain head coach Unai Emery says his side’s performance in the 2-0 victory over Montpellier fully warranted all three Ligue 1 points on Saturday.
PSG moved three points clear over second-placed AS Monaco, albeit playing two games more than their title rivals – who face off against Lyon on Sunday.
Goals from Edison Cavani and Angel Di Maria in each half secured the crucial win at the Parc des Princes and the former Sevilla boss praised the dominant performance on the day.
"We earned an important three points in front of our fans for the championship," he told reporters after the game.
"I think it was a very open match, very attacking and nice for the fans to watch. I think we controlled the game well, for the full 90 minutes and we deserved the victory."
Les Parisiens are aiming for their fifth successive league crown, with four games remaining in the current season.
