Saturday's two Serie A matches provided a feast of goals as Fiorentina and Atalanta came out on top in their respective clashes.
Fiorentina dented Inter Milan's European hopes after emerging 5-4 victors in an enthralling encounter at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
A see-saw battle saw Matias Vecino (23') gave La Viola the lead, although Ivan Perisic (28') swiftly restored parity before Mauro Icardi (34') put Inter ahead at the break.
Davide Astori levelled matters on 62 minutes and Vecino handed the hosts a two-goal cushion soon afterwards, only to see Icardi strike twice in the final two minutes to complete his hat-trick and make the Florence outfit sweat at the death.
Fiorentina moved to within a point of the seventh-placed Nerazzurri, who have slipped five points off the European spots after failing to win their last five league games.

Meanwhile, Atalanta remain on course to qualify for the Europa League after running out 3-2 victors against Bologna at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.
The hosts got off to a flying start when Andrea Conti opened the scoring in the third minute, with Remo Freuler doubling their lead 11 minutes later.
Mattia Destro (16') halved the deficit moments later to give the Rossoblu hope and Federico Di Francesco (61') restored parity early in the second half.
But Mattia Caldara struck 15 minutes from time to secure all three points for La Dea, who climbed up to fourth position after extending their unbeaten run in the league to five outings.
