Klopp wary of big Benteke threat

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes limiting the supply to Christian Benteke could be key as his side face resurgent Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.

Liverpool have the chance to strengthen their grip on a top four Premier League finish when they face the in-form Eagles at Anfield.

He said of the commanding striker who is deadly in the air, "If we let them cross 50 balls, it is pretty likely (Benteke) will have a few dangerous headers but that is not his only strength.

"You have to avoid passes in this area but not only for him; if you only concentrate on Christian then Wilfried Zaha, Andros Townsend are around you."

Meanwhile, Palace boss Sam Allardyce wants his side to continue playing with confidence. He said, "We're in Champions League form for picking points up, which should give us a huge amount of confidence on Sunday."

In team news, Liverpool could have problems in central defence, with Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan and Lucas Leiva all unable to practice this week. Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana remain out injured with thigh and foot injuries respectively.

For Palace, Mamadou Sakho is ineligible to face his parent club. Loic Remy and James McArthur could both make their return for the Eagles.
