Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has mused that it may be in his side's interest to avoid facing Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals.
The Bianconeri booked their spot in the last four thanks to a 3-0 aggregate win over Barcelona, and they are now awaiting the semi-final draw which takes place on Friday.
They could potentially face Real Madrid, Monaco, or Atletico Madrid, and Buffon believes the latter may be their worst match-up because they are not challenging for their domestic league title like the other two are.
"Maybe it’s better to meet Monaco or Real, who will spend significant energy in the fight for the league," the 39-year-old told Mediaset Premium.
"They would rotate less, compared to Atletico, who have a more defined position [in the table] and can manage themselves."
