West Brom manager Tony Pulis believes his players deserve to finish in the top half of the Premier League because they have overachieved this season.
Pulis has never managed to finish a Premier League season in the top 10, but seems to be on track to achieve the feat this term as the Baggies have been in eighth position all year.
However, three consecutive defeats have allowed Southampton and Watford to close the gap to four points with a game in hand.
“I think everybody would be disappointed as we have been in there for most of the season,” said Pulis when asked how his team would react if they finished outside the top 10, according to the Express & Star.
“But if you look at the games we’ve got we know we’ve got some tough games coming up. I just pray we get the points to take us to where we are because they deserve it.
“They’ve overachieved massively and when you think of the size of the group as well, they’ve done wonderful.”
