Mourinho: Europa final would be perfect climax

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes advancing to the Europa League final would be the perfect conclusion to the club’s difficult season.

The Red Devils are preparing to take on Anderlecht in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday night, after drawing the first leg 1-1.

Meanwhile, Mourinho has said that Sergio Romero is not guaranteed to play in goal for United if they progress to the Europa League final. United take on Anderlecht in their quarterfinal second leg at Old Trafford on Thursday. Argentina No. 1 Romero has played in each of United's knockout games in the competition this season, with David De Gea not figuring since the encounter with Fenerbahce in November. But Mourinho says he has no intention of separating his goalkeepers for different competitions. "No, he [Romero] is not my goalkeeper for the Europa League," Mourinho said. "He's my goalkeeper for tomorrow and for other matches, but I don't like to do that, complete separation. Sergio is very experienced and playing very well. He played well in the Premier League, in the FA Cup, in the League Cup. Every time he plays, he plays well. "It's very important to have goalkeepers playing. If not, one day you have a problem and the goalkeeper doesn't have the feeling for the match. But I always like to have my goalkeepers playing in different competitions, not complete separation." #آقای_خاص #مورینیو #منچستر_یونایتد #من_یونایتد #خاص #mutd #photo #photos #pic #pictures #picture #josemourinho #mourinho #ManchesterUnited #ManUnited #manutdfans #manutd #specialone #lovers #jm

With Mourinho's side struggling to break into the Premier League's top four this campaign, the Europa League presents a great opportunity. Winning the competition would give United an automatic Champions League spot for next season.

"It will be the perfect end to the season," Mourinho told the press, according to the Daily Mail.

"A difficult season, lots of matches, trying to build a team, trying to recover a certain mentality, trying to finish the season playing a European final.

"It will be the perfect finale for Manchester United."

He added: "For Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) it would be fantastic to play the final in Stockholm, in his country. It would be beautiful."
