FC Bayern Munchen captain Philipp Lahm, who is the record holder for making the highest number of appearances in the UEFA Champions League for Bayern, says beating Real Madrid is possible.
Bayern face the Champions League holders on Tuesday with a 2-1 deficit after losing the quarter-final first leg at the Allianz Arena.
However, Lahm, who has made a total of 111 appearances in the competition, takes the view that beating Real on their home patch is entirely possible.
He told the club’s official website: “You always want to test yourself against the best and throughout my career I’ve been able to do that. It’ll be nice to play at the Bernabéu again.
“The atmosphere there is always great. I’ve experienced a lot there. We can win in Madrid. In the first leg in Madrid two years ago, we dominated them but then got hit on the counter. We need to avoid that this time. We have a strong team and we know we can score away from home too.”

Bayern will have the prolific Robert Lewandowski available after he recovered from a shoulder injury, although Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels are in doubt.
