Begovic: Chelsea ‘not getting nervy’ yet

Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic says that there is no reason to panic after dropping points in their quest for the Premier League title.

The Blues saw their lead cut to just four points after losing to Manchester United while second-placed Tottenham thrashed Bournemouth.

Begovic, who started in goal for the Blues in place of the injured Thibaut Courtois, admits United deserved their win. He said: "I think the defeat is down to a combination of things. United were more aggressive, they won second balls and probably wanted it more. They got a great start and then went on from there. We need to be better going forward." Begovic added: "We have a lot of matchwinners, it was not just a case of Eden Hazard being man marked and taken out the game. We weren't at it today but we have a lot of character and can bounce back. We have a four-point advantage and at the start of the season we would have taken it at this stage. If we win our games it doesn't matter what Spurs do." #BlueIsTheColour #CFC #CFCFans #CFCFamily #CFCTillIDie #BPL #EPL #PremierLeague #PreSeason #CFCTour #Champions #ComeOnYouBlues #WearChelsea #PremierLeagueChampions #ChelseaFC #COYB #KTBFFH #IfItsNotBlueItWillBe #CFCArmy #TheBlues #Chelsea_KTBFFH #ChelseaFans #ChelseaKWT #CFCNews #CFCTransfers #CFCTour #AntonioConte #Conte #asmirbegovic

"It's not getting nervy," he told the club’s website. "We are an experienced group of players who have been there and done this before.

"We have to just focus on getting better for the next game. We'll bounce back. There is still lots to play for this season.

"We just have to do our job. We still have a four-point advantage which at the beginning of the season we would have taken at this stage.

"We just have to concentrate on ourselves. If we pick up the points we need it doesn't matter what Spurs do."
