Former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has praised the team for their performances this season and believes they deserve to be near the top.
Spurs are only four points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea, after beating Bournemouth 4-0 before the Blues lost 2-0 to Manchester United on Sunday, and Berbatov has been impressed by their displays.
“Tottenham are one of the challengers [for the title]. They are where they’re supposed to be,” he told Sky Sport's Goals.
"Spurs goals aren't lucky, they play from defence to midfield to the strikers with accuracy…I would love to play in this team."
Berbatov went on to heap the praise on Spurs striker Harry Kane, who reached 20 Premier League goals in the win over the Cherries.
“He’s up there with royalty, if he continues like this,” he added.“I think Alan Shearer has now set him a target of scoring 30 goals every year, which would be great for him as well, but I think he’ll manage to do that.
"He’s still young, still developing, he’s going to become even stronger and I wish him all the best.”
