PSV Eindhoven manager Phillip Cocu admits their season is over with nothing to play for and was critical of his side’s display in the 1-1 draw with ADO Den Haag.
The Eredivisie champions have surrendered their chances of picking up a third successive title after Davy Pröpper's early opening strike was cancelled out by Mike Havenaar in the 87th minute at the Kyocera Stadion.
With three games remaining Cocu conceded that Boeren are aiming to produce a better performance and end fierce rivals Ajax Amsterdam's title bid – when they face off next week.
"We did not lose the title here in Den Haag today, but our season is over anyway, with three games to go," he told the club's official website.
"It actually sums up our season. We create plenty of chances but do not pull the trigger. We started brightly and deservedly took the lead, but failed to double it.
"With a 1-0 score line, ADO Den Haag were still in the game. We are hugely disappointed," he added.
"We will try and please our fans with a fine display against Ajax, but I don't expect there will much at stake for us, apart from pride."
