Manchester City’s hopes of signing Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been dashed after it was revealed the player would consider joining either Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Pep Guardiola is keen to add to his already deadly attack by adding Aubameyang to his arsenal.
But, according to Dortmund’s chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke, the Gabon international will not be heading to England.
“I think he will stay with us,” Watzke said on a German football programme.
“If Real Madrid or Barcelona come along with an offer, maybe he’ll think about it.”
Watzke added that the club would not allow the player to join bitter rivals FC Bayern Munchen.
Dortmund have seen some of their best players jump ship for Bayern over the last couple of years.
