FC Bayern München striker Robert Lewandowski has hit out at Borussia Dortmund defender Marc Bartra for his poor challenge in Der Klassiker on Saturday.
The Poland international escaped serious injury when he was caught in the face by a raised boot from Bartra moments before half-time at the Allianz Arena.
The Spaniard only received a booking, but Lewandowski – who scored a brace in a 4-1 win for Carlo Ancelotti’s side – felt the referee should have been more severe with his punishment.
The Bayern star told Bild: “He could clearly see me. That’s a straight red card. Why he doesn’t get it… that’s a good question.
“If he hits me a bit harder, I’d need a mask again,” Lewandowski added, referring to an incident in 2015 when he collided with Mitch Langerak.
The 28-year-old’s double against Dortmund saw him move to the top of the scoring charts in the German top flight, with 26 goals from 28 games.
