Rafinha out for four months

Barcelona have revealed that midfielder Rafinha will miss the remainder of the season as he is sidelined with a knee injury.

The 24-year-old Brazil international will be out of action for four months, after picking up the knock in the 4-1 win over Granada on Sunday.

He has already undergone surgery on his knee and will begin his rehabilitation with the club.

A brief statement from Barca read: "At midday on Friday local time the first team player Rafinha underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to resolve an injury to the internal meniscus.

"The operation was carried out by Dr.Ramon Cugat and Dr.Ricard Pruna.

"The player will be out for around four months."

It is a huge blow for Barcelona as they chase the league, Champions League and the Copa Del Rey, with Rafinha having contributed six goals in 18 La Liga appearances.
