Gentile: Allegri better for Juve than Conte

Former Italy international Claudio Gentile has claimed that Max Allegri has done more for Juventus than Antonio Conte did during his time at the club.

When current Chelsea manager Conte took over at Juve they were out of Europe, having finished seventh in the Serie A, but he went on to claim three consecutive titles.

Allegri then continued Conte's work, winning two Serie A crowns back to back, and is on track to clinch a third.

Many fans still want Conte back at Juventus, but Gentile doesn't understand why, claiming that Allegri is better than his predecessor.

“Allegri is doing much more than Conte did for Juventus,” the 1982 World Cup winner Gentile told TMW Radio.

“What really counts are the results. I don’t understand why people continue to prefer Conte to Allegri. If he was to leave Juve, he’d go to a big club, whether foreign or Italian.”
