Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski has continued scoring for the Bavarians all season. The Pole has netted 36 goals across all competitions after adding a hat-trick against FC Augsburg on Saturday.
Team form and manager quotes:
Die Kraichgauer beat Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Hertha Berlin in their last two games, and are unbeaten in their last six, winning four.
The hosts’ run of results have seen them jump from fifth up to third position on the Bundesliga standings. They trail second-placed RB Leipzig by four points.
Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann told the press that his team will approach the game the same way they did in the 1-1 draw in November.
He said, according to Sportbild: “We have a similar approach as in the first leg. If you give Bayern the ball, it will be extremely difficult. If you have it yourself, the opponent can not score.”
Heading into the clash, Bayern are in superb form. They have not lost in their last 20 games in all competitions, and are on a seven-game winning streak which has seen them open a 13-point lead at the top of the standings.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti’s men have not conceded in their last three games, scoring 10 unanswered goals. The most recent result seeing them humiliate Augsburg 6-0.
The home team have a full-strength squad from which to pick their matchday squad.
However, Bayern are unlikely to call upon goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who picked up a foot injury last week.
