Chinese national team player Jiang Zhipeng’s wife obviously doesn’t like him very much.
Zhang Zhiyue, the wife of the Guangzhou R&F left back, wants the player red carded after his defensive howler in this week’s World Cup qualifying 1-0 loss to Iran.
Jiang’s weak header was instrumental in allowing Iran’s Mehdi Teremi to score the goal that effectively ended Marcello Lippi’s sides chances of qualifying for Russia 2018 in a game the Chinese press labelled a “nightmare.”
Now Jiang’s wife has given the fans another reason to vent their frustrations on Jiang after posting details of his private life on social media.
“I supported him when he was still a poor lad and my mum treated him like her own son, my family even chipped in with 1 million RMB to cover the down payment for his house in Shanghai,” she wrote.
“For nearly three-and-a-half years of our four-year marriage, he was sleeping with other women and now he is trying to drive me to an early grave,” she added.
Zhang revealed that she recently blew time on their marriage, filing for divorce, and posted pictures of the player snuggling up to his alleged mistress. Now she has called on the Chinese football association for the player to be red carded from the national squad.

The reaction online was supportive: “His character is horrible. Kick him out of national football,” one football fan wrote.
The 28-year-old has been in the national team since 2013.
Chinese football authorities are yet to comment on the allegations.
Could Jiang’s extra-marital activities be linked to his lacklustre performance on the pitch?
