Manolas urges Nainggolan to reconsider move

Nainggolan, Roma

Kostas Manolas has hinted that Roma team-mate Radja Nainggolan should reconsider his hesitation to move to England due to the country's weather.

In conversation with Mediaset Premium, Greek defender Manolas made it clear that the Giallorossi simply cannot compare with the bigger clubs in Europe and that this should be enough of a reason for Nainggolan to move on.

"Nainggolan doesn't like the rain, but he is among the best midfielders in the world and has to get accustomed to that too if he wants to play in the best teams," Manolas said, referring to the Chelsea target's comments that the climate in England is what is preventing him from considering the move to London.

"He can do it, because he's a phenomenon," he continued. "Let's be honest, we're not up to the standard of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid."

Manolas also spoke of his own uncertain future at Stadio Olimpico, saying: "My future is in Roma's hands. If they want to keep me, they know what to do. If they want to sell me, then I can't do anything about that.

"Our objective is to get into the Champions League and we've got a very important Coppa Italia semi-final against Lazio coming up," he said on the topic of the club's aspirations for the remainder of the season.

"We can overturn that 2-0 first leg defeat, as we are the stronger side and we just have to prove it on the pitch."
