FC Bayern München have been hit by a blow after the club confirmed that winger Douglas Costa will be ruled out until at least the end of March with a knee injury.
The 26-year-old has been in some good form for the Bavarians but will now miss Bayern's next game against VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday at Borussia-Park.
In addition, the player will miss Brazil's next two World Cup qualifying fixtures against Uruguay and Paraguay. The club's official website said,"Douglas Costa is facing a spell on the sidelines after breaking off Friday’s FC Bayern training session with an injury to his left knee.
"The winger definitely misses Sunday's trip to face Borussia Monchengladbach, and has also withdrawn from the Brazil squad for the 2018 World Cup qualifying fixtures against Uruguay and Paraguay. The 26-year-old will remain at the Sabener Strasse for treatment by the Bayern medical unit."
Costa has scored seven goals and registered nine assists in 27 games across all competitions for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
