Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of Gonzalo Castro for a further three years which will keep the midfielder at the club until 2020.
The 29-year-old signed for Dortmund in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen and has since become a key performer under coach Thomas Tuchel.
Castro has made 31 appearances across all competitions in the current campaign. He follows star duo Julian Weigl and Christian Pulisic in committing their futures to the club.
The Wuppertal-born star told his club’s official website: “I’m really happy about the trust the club has placed in me and I can honestly say that it makes me proud to pull on the Black and Yellow jersey and play football in front of such amazing fans.”
Meanwhile, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc expressed his delight about the deal.
“Both on a sporting and personal level, Gonzo has become a very important member of the squad in a short space of time.”
