Paris Saint-Germain hit by raft of injuries

Ahead of Paris Saint-Germain's Coupe de France Round of 16 clash with Niort on Wednesday, manager Unai Emery has admitted that injuries to key players have hit his squad.

Thiago Motta, Adrien Rabiot, Marco Verratti, Hatem Ben Arfa and Angel di Maria are all ruled out of the tie with an assortment of ailments.

He told the club's official website: "Thiago Motta is not in the squad; he still has a calf problem and is working with the physios. Adrien Rabiot is ill – he has a temperature – and did not train on Tuesday.

"Marco Verratti took a knock on the calf and won't be ready for Wednesday's game. Hatem Ben Arfa took a knock on Sunday and twisted his knee. He is not in the squad. Angel Di Maria is doing well but is not at 100%. He will work with the physios."

Despite the loss of the PSG stars, the club are hot favourites to beat the outfit from Ligue 2. In 2017 the Parisians have won 12 of their 14 matches and have drawn the other two.
