Jese Rodriguez is convinced he would have become a regular starter at Real Madrid if only he hadn't suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
The 24-year-old picked up the injury against Schalke in 2014 before moving on to Paris Saint-Germain, where he netted only one goal before going on loan to Las Palmas.
When asked how his Los Merengues career would have turned out had he not been injured, Jese told Marca: "I have thought about it. And I've never liked comparing myself to anyone, but I think I would be an undisputed starter for Real Madrid. Of that I'm sure."
Jese has endured a tough start to his loan spell at Las Palmas, losing four games without scoring a goal.
"I did not expect it and I do not feel good. We have lost all four matches and I have not scored a goal," he said.
"Things have not turned out the way we wanted them to, but I feel even worse because the team is creating really good chances.
"Let's see if we can end this streak, we have played some good teams and good players."
