Wednesday’s AFC Champions League Group H action sees Japan’s Gamba Osaka host Jeju United of South Korea.
One has to turn back the clock to 2011 to find their last head-to-head fixture, where Osaka won 3-1, exacting revenge on their 2-1 loss in the opener of the group stage.
But six seasons on, things are likely to be quite different at the Suita City Football Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Japanese outfit got their 2017 AFC Champions League campaign off to a flying start, recording a comfortable 3-0 win over hosts Adelaide United.

Yasuyuki Konno and Shun Nagasawa scored for Osaka and Jeju will have to do their best to contain the dynamic duo if they are to eke out a positive result.
Meanwhile, Jeju hosted Jiangsu FC in their opening encounter, where a solitary strike from Ramires would sink the hosts. It was a bitter pill to swallow for the South Korean’s as they had dominated proceedings, hitting the woodwork twice.
A win for Jiangsu would get their campaign back on track, while Osaka will be eager to stay at the top of Group H with another win.
