Gourvennec wants to see ‘Coupe spirit’

Bordeaux manager Jocelyn Gourvennec wants to see his players put in an inspired performance against Lorient in the Coupe de France last-16 on Tuesday night.

Gourvennec was impressed by his side's performance against Lille on Saturday, when they won 3-2, and wants to build on that result in the cup.

"The Cup is something altogether different. No matter the opponent, you have to prepare to start strongly and play a good match in order to make it through. That's all that matters," said Gourvennec, according to the official Ligue 1 website.

"What I want to see is the spirit we have been showing lately. In Lille, we showed Coupe spirit and that's what I want against Lorient."

Bordeaux have enjoyed an impressive run of form recently, losing only once in their last 12 games across all competitions.
