Roma centre-back Juan Jesus has revealed that it was a unique experience to play against his former team Inter Milan on Sunday.
The Giallorossi beat the Nerazzurri 3-1 in their Serie A clash, which sees them maintain second position, seven points behind Juventus.
Jesus transferred to Roma from Inter at the start of the season, and spoke about what emotions he went through during the game against his former employers.
“It was a unique feeling because I spent several years at Inter," he told Roma's official website.
"It felt quite new and at first I wasn’t sure how I’d react, but as soon as the match started all that went away because I know that I have to give everything I have for Roma. I think I did well tonight.”
He added: “It shows that we’re in good shape because Inter are a tough side and were in a nice run of form, having won nine from ten before tonight.
"We knew it was going to be a difficult game, but – as I’ve said – we performed excellently and secured a massive three points. Now we need to focus on Wednesday because that’s another huge game.”
