Borussia Dortmund head coach Thomas Tuchel wants star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to forget about his future and start playing on instinct again.
Aubameyang’s commitment to the Bundesliga side has come into question in recent weeks with rumours of a move to Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain consistently being brought up in Spanish and French media reports.
However, after a recent barren run with two goals in seven league games, Tuchel challenged the 27-year-old to get back to regain his goal scoring touch.
And he did just that, with two goals in the 3-0 victory over SC Freiburg on Saturday, taking his tally in the league to 19 goals in 20 games.
“What you don’t want is for your centre-forward to start thinking too much,” he said after the game.
“During the first period, in which we failed to convert several chances, we couldn’t deny there was a slight feeling of unease.
“It’s best for all of us if Auba doesn’t think twice, if he’s eagerly anticipating our next matches, if he’s looking forward to his next chances and if he has that effortlessness back in his game.”
