Valencia captain Dani Parejo believes January signings Simone Zaza and Fabian Orellana have had a huge impact on the club already.
Zaza, on loan from Juventus, scored the first goal in their 2-1 win over Real Madrid on Wednesday, while Orellana, on loan from Celta Vigo but with an option to sign permanently at the end of the season, added the second.
Valencia have endured a torid campaign this season. So much so that beating La Liga leading Los Blancos only moved them up to 14th and just 10 points above the relegation zone and Parejo believes Zaza and Orellana could be the keys to turning their season around.
"If you want to have a starring role, you need to have a centre-forward," he told Cadena Ser.
"This is something we didn't have this season, and Valencia has always had a No. 9. Now we have that with Zaza, who is proving a key player.
"Orellana is also giving his contribution up front and he is great for assists."
