Leipzig CEO unfazed by potential European ban

RB Leipzig CEO, Oliver Mintzlaff, insists the club are not concerned about a ban from European competition for having the same owner as RB Salzburg.

Salzburger Nachrichten reported that UEFA have indicated that only one of the Red Bull-owned clubs will be able to participate in Europa, should both qualify.

According to the UEFA rules, "no individual or legal entity may have control or influence over more than one club participating in a UEFA club competition."

In case of both sides qualifying, the club that finishes higher in their domestic league will be able to play. Salzburg currently lead the Austrian Bundesliga.

However, Mintzlaff, the head of global soccer at Red Bull told SID: "At RB Leipzig, there is no nervousness and there are no alleged 'signals' from UEFA.

"Should we qualify for a European competition, there'd be no reason to doubt that we'd play internationally next term."
