SV Werder Bremen striker Max Kruse believes facing a former team is a memorable occasion, but at the same time, he remains fully focused on claiming all three points.
Kruse will face former employers VfL Wolfsburg in a Bundesliga clash on Friday, and he is determined to help Werder get past their hosts.
“Playing against a former club is always special,” Kruse told the club's official website.
“Ultimately, the only things which interests me is scoring points. I, along with my teammates, will try to always give 100 percent, just as we would against any other opposition.”
When asked about the leadership role he has filled for Werder in recent games, Kruse added: “Of course I try to be a leader in every game and carry the team along. When important players like Clemens and Thomas miss out, everyone else has to make up for it, including me.”
