Ajax Amsterdam have announced the contract extension of influential midfielder Lasse Schone, for a further two years at the Eredivisie giants.
The Denmark international has been a mainstay in the starting XI at the Amsterdam Arena since joining Peter Bosz' side from NEC in 2012, racking up 182 appearances over the past four and a half seasons.
His versatility has proved to be an invaluable asset for the title-chasing Dutch side, having played on either wing, as an attacking midfielder and now as a holding midfielder this season.
Despite being deployed in a deeper role under Bosz, the 30-year-old has managed a return of seven goals and five assists in 27 games across all competitions.
The new contract will now see the De Graafschap man remain at de Godenzonen until the end of the 2018/19 season.
