Zaza’s Real screamer leaves Hammers fans in disbelief

Simone Zaza showed West Ham fans what could have been on Wednesday night when he scored an absolute beauty to help Valencia earn a shock 2-1 win over La Liga leaders Real Madrid.

The Italian striker hit a sensational strike on four minutes to give Valencia an early lead against Zinedine Zidane’s side.

Collecting a cross with his back to goal near the penalty spot, the 25-year old spun and connected with a curling effort that flew into the net giving Madrid keeper Keylor Navas no chance.

He now has two goals in his last two games for Valencia after scoring against Athletic Bilbao at the weekend.

It’s a far cry from the goal-shy striker who started the season at West Ham and failed to score in 11 appearances, or 572 minutes, for the Hammers before he was moved onto Spain in the January transfer window.

Unsurprisingly, Zaza’s goal was quick to garner the attention of West Ham fans on social media.

Slaven Bilic must be watching and wondering what could have been.
