Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has said that they will offer coach Thomas Tuchel a new contact amid speculation about his future at the club.
The 43-year-old mentor is yet to win a trophy at Dortmund and reports have claimed that he is set to depart from the club after being linked with taking over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal at the end of the current campaign.
Watzke, however, believes that Dortmund are close to reaching their objectives, suggesting that Tuchel has done enough to secure his future with the club.
"Of course a new contract is an option," he told Bild. "Let's be honest here, we are not too far away from our pre-season objectives in any of the competitions we take part in.
"It is not like everything has gone wrong for us," he concluded.
