Tuchel: We’re very satisfied

Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel was delighted with his side's performance in the 3-0 Bundesliga win over VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday.

An own-goal from Jeffrey Bruma on 20 minutes kicked off the scoring, ahead of Lukasz Piszczek's 48th-minute effort and an Ousmane Dembele goal a minute before the hour mark.

After the game, a content Tuchel, whose side had not won in two games after a 2-1 loss to Darmstadt 98 in the league, and a 1-0 loss to Benfica in the Champions League, said they didn't allow Wolfsburg into the game.

He told the club's official website: "We managed to play with focus and keep the tempo high.

"We created a lot of chances while simultaneously giving Wolfsburg only a few. So we're very satisfied. The win was deserved, as was the margin of victory."

He added: "It was a very good way to round off a busy run of fixtures. Apart from the slip-up in Darmstadt, we have consistently performed with great focus and created a lot of clear-cut chances.

"We kept the opposition away from our goal and are currently working really hard and showing great discipline in defence. You could see that in the Champions League, as well as the matches against Leipzig and Hertha."

Up next for the third-placed side is a trip to Freiburg next Saturday ahead of a DFB Pokal Cup clash with Sportfreunde Lotte the following Tuesday.

"At the moment I'm very happy with how we're performing. Now we're looking forward to having a week off and taking a breather," Tuchel explained.

"We need that to recuperate the energy we will need for the next block of five fixtures, which includes DFB Cup and the Champions League matches."
