Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny believes the team cracked under pressure in their 5-1 thrashing at the hands of FC Bayern München on Wednesday night.
The Gunners are on the brink of exiting the Champions League at the last-16 phase for the seventh consecutive season after the humiliating defeat in the first leg.
Koscielny picked up an injury on the night, with the score still level at 1-1 in the 49th minute. After he left the pitch, Robert Lewandowski restored Die Roten's lead before the Gunners fell apart, conceding a further three goals in 10 minutes.
"In the first half, we were good. The second was completely different. We cracked immediately," Koscielny told beIN SPORTS.
"I think we wanted to equalise, even though if we lost 2-1 here we would have had a strong hand to qualify in the return leg at home.
"We lost our unity a little bit. As soon as you give this team a bit of space, they're capable of making the difference."
