Ramos happy to see Barcelona beaten

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos admits he took some pleasure in Barcelona’s 4-0 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

The Catalans were dealt a heavy defeat in the Champions League last-16 first leg tie at Parc des Princes, and Ramos enjoyed seeing Real's arch-rivals thrashed.

"I won't say no," he admitted when asked if he had been happy to see Barca lose heavily.

"I don't like to see my friends suffer, but obviously I don't like Barcelona to win.

"I wasn't (surprised by the result), what it means is that in the Champions League any team pays for a bad game. PSG did a great game, put pressure in the front."

In contrast, Madrid came back from a goal down against Napoli in their last-16 first-leg clash to win 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
