Eibar up to seventh with crushing win

Eibar leapfrogged Athletic Bilbao and into seventh place in the Primera Division table with a thumping 4-0 win over Granada at Estadio Municipal de Ipurua.

The home side has been playing above expectations and continued with their fine form on Monday night.

They produced twice as many shots at goal than the visitors, while limiting them to just three on target all evening.

Los Armeros started well and did not have to wait long for an opening goal, with Adrian converting from the penalty spot after Sverrir Ingi Ingason was blown up for holding in the box.

The striker almost made it two moments later, but saw his blistering shot cannon back off the crossbar. However, they would double their advantage in the 39th minute through Sergio Enrich, who showed superb skill in the box to create space for his shot, which he stuck into the back of the net.

After the break it was more of the same. Pedro Leon picked up his second assist of the night on 52 minutes, delivering a corner in for Ivan Ramis to steer home and make it 3-0 before getting himself on the scoresheet 10 minutes later with a clinical low finish to complete the rout.
